Why Schools Partner With SIS for AP
Offer AP Courses Without Building an AP Program From Scratch
Building an AP program independently usually means developing courses, completing College Board's course authorization process, recruiting a qualified AP teacher for each subject, and maintaining an academic team to run the program.
Through a partnership with Solomon International School, your school can offer AP courses taught and supported by SIS teachers — from the start of the partnership.
No Waiting for Course Authorization
Your school does not need to develop its own AP courses and wait for each one to be authorized before students can begin.
No AP Teacher Search for Every Subject
SIS teachers teach and support your students in each AP course.
No Program Development
SIS provides the AP curriculum, coursework, assignments, and assessments.
No Separate AP Academic Team
SIS manages grading, feedback, and academic oversight for each course.
From the start of the partnership, your school can offer AP courses to its students — expanding its advanced academic offerings and strengthening its academic profile.
How the Partnership Works

Decide Where Credit Is Recorded
How AP courses and grades are recorded is agreed upon with each partner school:
- On your school's transcript — the AP course and grade appear on your own school's transcript.
- On an official SIS transcript — the course is recorded by Solomon International School.

AP Courses and AP Exams
Students Take AP Exams in Their Own Country
The AP course and the AP Exam are separate. Students take AP Exams at an authorized AP test center in their country.
AP coursework does not by itself award college credit. College credit or placement depends on AP Exam results and the policy of each college or university.
AP courses provided through the partnership are SIS courses authorized by College Board. When AP courses appear on a partner school's transcript, the school indicates them through its own AP Course Audit account, following College Board policy. Specific courses, learning formats, credit recording, and responsibilities are defined in each partnership agreement.
