Alla Aronov

Mrs. Alla Aronov came from Moscow, Russia. She went to the Moscow State Teacher Training University and University of Washington – Seattle. She taught at one of the oldest English language schools in Moscow and has been teaching at Solomon Christian School since September 1998. Her main subjects are English and French. Also, she leads the Russian and knitting clubs.

Katherine Thrall

Mrs. Katherine Thrall recently graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Masters Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages with a K-12 teaching Certification in English Language Learners. She loves learning and teaching. Katherine also loves spending her free time at the beach or at Pike Place Market, shopping for the best produce. If she is not doing those things,  then you will probably find her kayaking on Lake Union or along Alki with her husband.

Heather Pann

Ms. Heather Pann is from Curtis, MI. She graduated from Cornerstone University with degrees in Biology/Chemistry and Secondary Education. Ms. Pann enjoys exploring other countries, playing basketball, trout fishing and spending time with her family back in Michigan. Her life verse is from Philippians 1:22 and 27: “As long as I’m alive in this body, there is good work for me to do. Live in such as way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ!” Ms. Pann teaches science at SCS.

Aaron Cate

Mr. Aaron Cate grew up in Ashland, Oregon.  He received a B.A. from the University of Oregon in History and Spanish, as well as a Master's in the Art of Teaching at Southern Oregon University.  He teaches Social Studies and Spanish at SCS.  His interests include sports, music, and traveling.  In addition to living in Oregon, Mr. Cate has also lived in San Sebastian, Spain, Mexico City, and San Francisco, CA.

Joseph Thomson

Mr. Joseph Thomson grew up in Seattle, WA and attended Seattle Pacific University.  He received a B.A. in English Literature and Theology, and then went on to earn his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.  In addition to managing the office and teaching Bible at SCS, Joe is the Director of Children's Ministry at Seattle Community Church.  In his free time, he enjoys going on long bicycle rides.

Kayla Hayden

Ms. Kayla Hayden was born and raised in Washington.  She is currently a student at Shoreline Community College studying audio engineering.  Kayla loves playing sports, being  outdoors and caring for animals.

Alan Nguyen

Mr. Alan Nguyen came from Kingston, New York. He came to Washington as a child with his parents. His undergraduate degrees in History and Asian Studies are from Washington State University. He devotes his energies in helping develop sister schools overseas and to find new students to study here at Solomon Christian School. In his free time he likes to try new foods and fine dining in Seattle and enjoys cooking, photography and watching films. Alan is also an avid fan of Seattle sports.

Marva Grinnell

Ms. Marva Grinnell has resided in the Pacific Northwest since 1977.  Over the past few years, she has taught in a Montessori school and was a Pre-K teacher at a daycare center.  At SCS, Marva works in the dorm on the weekends.  She also currently works at Best Buy as an administrator for the Geek Squad.  Marva loves the outdoors, reading, watching history documentaries and music.  She has three children.

Tyler McPherson

Mr. Tyler McPherson is the vice-principal at SCS and is from Richland, WA. He got his B.A. in Social Science with a Minor in Biblical Studies and Theology at Simpson University; he received an M.A. in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. For several years he has been in charge of the credit make-up program at SCS. In addition, Mr. McPherson is the head of Soccer club, is an academic advisor for seniors (choosing/applying to colleges and universities), and represents SCS at education fairs all over the world.

Abraham Lee

Mr. Abraham Lee is from the Pacific Northwest and is excited to be living and working here.  He studied Philosophy as an undergraduate at the University of Washington and is currently working on a Master of Divinity degree as well.  Abraham enjoys working with teenage students and has worked as the Youth Director at his home church.  At SCS, he will be working closely with students as they make the difficult transition from leaving their home countries to living and studying in the USA.  In his free time, Abraham enjoys playing sports, discovering new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family. 

Richard Lee

Mr. Richard Lee is the principal at SCS. He was born in South Korea but raised in the Seattle area. He received his M.A. in Philosophy at the University of Washington and his M.Div. at Springfield Theological Seminary. He was a youth pastor for 14 years and has also taught math (6 years) and Bible (4 years). Here at SCS, Mr. Lee is currently busy establishing branch language schools overseas, but he still has time to work individually with each student on scheduling and college advising. He monitors and follows-up with students regularly, showing his deep concern for each of them. He also loves working with different nationalities and has a passion for music. Mr. Lee is married to Sang Lee and they have two children, Abraham and Grace.
